What a legacy Rodman Wanamaker, a Philadelphia businessman, left in 1916. He created the PGA (Professional Golferís Association of America), to promote the interests of golf, increase the standards and move forward the welfare of the members. Currently the PGA has more than 24,000 members working in public and private courses along with instructional facilities. The PGA Village was renamed in 1999; the Golf Club was established in January 1996. Having two Tom Fazio-designed courses opened, followed by the opening of the Dye course by world-renown Pete Dye.
